HOW TO SEARCH FORUM MESSAGES (ARCHIVES)

#1 Please SEARCH before submitting your questions because we have spent months restoring all the archives from 4 years on Yahoo to this forum although we still have hundreds of miscellaneous responses and articles submitted yet to post.

#2 Search by clicking on the Search word under Dr Gordon's picture. A Search Query screen appears with many options to narrow your search. We will use the newly submitted question on chelating Tin above, as our example.

#3 Keywords Search: The search engine uses a Boolean method where the use of "and", "or" and "not" can narrow the search of keywords (i.e.: chelating and tin finds 6 topics, whereas chelating tin finds 97!)

Under the top bar where you enter the search term(s), are two choices: search by any terms (chelating tin = 6) or search by all terms (chelating tin = 0).

#4 Author Search: Right now it is only your moderators posting messages because this group, as was Yahoo, is moderated so all of your posts come to us first. Author does not mean name within posting but who posted the actual message on the group and only your moderators have this permission.

#5 Search Options: By Forum (more specific, Heavy Metals, chelating tin = 4 posts) or By Category (more general, Chelation, chelating tin =6 posts)

Search previous: Topic and text, text only, topic only - each choice is more specific (chelating tin by topic only = 1)

#6: Click on topic in search results:

Look at first line in text to see date of message. Since we restored the archives we put the original posting date within the message (chelating tin, posted May 8, 2006)

Scan the body of the text for RED highlighted keywords from your search choice

#7: General hints:

Search for at least 3 letters, keyword of MS will find nothing by topic although there are postings on MS.

You can Jump To categories to see list of forums at the bottom of the page. We have tried to do them logically but, of course, many discussions covered multiple topics (chelating tin example will also find relevant information under Category RNA, Forum NutriSwitch, topic RNA for Heavy Metals and Category Neurological Disorders, Forum Autism, Topic Autism and Heavy Metals)

Sticky Notes have been added to protocols or articles of importance; they will always be at the top of a forum, although not at the top of a search list.

You were promised a golden egg from Dr Gordon for your Search efforts and it is his new Informed Consent marked with a sticky note. Please practice these guidelines to find it.
